The X-Files' Gillian
Anderson And
David Duchovny
Science fiction fans and government conspiracy theorists alike may be in love with Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, the dynamic FBI duo from "The X-Files," but the stars certainly aren't afraid to say that they don’t like each other in real life. The feud between "The X-Files" actors has always had people wondering if David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson actually hate one another.
Despite Fox Mulder and Dana Scully going from work colleagues to romantic partners in "The X-Files," Anderson described that she and Duchovny "hated each other," while Duchovny explained they used to "argue about nothing." Despite this rivalry, both actors maintained a professional working relationship throughout the show.
Both actors have an underlying respect for each other, which has always trumped their interpersonal issues. While Duchovny explained that the rivalry eventually fades away to make room for "appreciation and love," Anderson admitted that despite all of that, the two actors "are closer today than [they] ever were."
Although Anderson and Duchovny have gotten closer with time (enough to take a selfie together), they aren’t overly-chummy. In 2016, Duchovny revealed it irks him when fans try to ship them, and that he finds it "odd" since they "are not lovers, or boyfriend and girlfriend."
