Focused On These
Aspects Of The
Witcher Books In
Season 2
Netflix's dark fantasy series based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s book series, "The Witcher," has been a success for the streaming giant, warranting two more seasons and several upcoming spin-off projects. While trying to stay accurate to the book, Henry Cavill (Geralt of Rivia) spoke to GQ about how he focused on some key aspects of the character.
As the show doesn't have time to get into all the complex dialogue and nuances of the source material, Cavill brought Geralt's most essential features to life in other ways. To show his character's wisdom and intelligence, Cavill said, "I actually do the man who listens more and watches more," and Geralt's more sarcastic side comes through with a derisive snort or an off-kilter comment.
Cavill continued, "The advantage of going into Season 2 is that I actually wanted to make sure that book Geralt shined through even more. Especially when we see him in a more personal environment." Cavill's portrayal of the character has mainly been positive by both book and game fans, and they hope the actor continues to go deeper for the next season.
